Origins of the Morris Mini Traveller “Internal Tank”

Launched in 1960, the Morris Mini Traveller is the original Mini in estate version: same look, same genius from Issigonis, but with space to take everything.
The very first 1960-61 examples, like the one we are offering, are the extremely rare "Internal Tank" models, with the fuel tank housed in the trunk and the filler cap on the left rear fender. This configuration disappeared in 1961: today, it is one of the most sought-after variants of the Mini Mk1.

Our model

Here is a Morris Mini Traveller Internal Tank from July 1961, in Old English White, right-hand drive, from a very fine collection in France, where it has been cherished and carefully preserved.
The line is incredibly pure: Old English White paint, woodwork on the case… exactly the look of a real early production Woody.

Inside, the red and grey fabric interior, the central instrument cluster and the red carpeting instantly transport you to the atmosphere of the sixties. Everything exudes care and authenticity.

Under the hood, the small 848cc engine presents itself very neatly: easy start, sound operation, perfect for enjoying the light charm and unique sound of a true Mk1.

A 1961 Traveller Internal Tank in Old English White, in this condition and from a fine French collection, is typically the Mini that you only see once: a rare, ultra-endearing estate car, ready to go again for family outings, beaches… and to make absolutely everyone fall in love with it.
